Brandi Glanville says doctors are ‘taking my face off’ in exploratory surgery after years of health issues
Brandi Glanville is taking a major step in her ongoing health battle by going under the knife.
During an episode of her “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered” podcast, shared on Thursday, Oct. 22, the 53-year-old reality star went into detail about the “exploratory surgery” she is scheduled to have on Friday.
“Dr. Carlo Honrado is taking my face off on Friday and going to do an exploratory surgery to kind of do a power wash under my skin,” she said. “And then he knows where there’s two definite spots, like either fungal balls or something alive. I think it’s alive personally cause it moves when it wants.”
She explained that after four years of dealing with the issue, she is “super excited” but also “scared to death” because she has “never had facial surgery” and has heard the procedure is “more intensive than a facelift.”

While she is nervous, Glanville is hopeful the surgery will be a success, as facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Honrado, “comes highly recommended.” She noted that she is “okay” with the $5,000 price tag, telling herself, “what if he actually does take it out and it’s done?”
“It started in my face, my cheek and my jawbone, and then it went over my head back in my neck. Now it’s down my spine,” she explained.
She went on to say that the doctor told her if he is able to “cut that head off the beast”, getting rid of the rest of it will be more manageable.
Glanville previously shared that she believed she picked up a parasite after visiting Morocco in 2023. She suffered from facial paralysis and was initially diagnosed with stress-induced angioedema.

In September, she revealed she had been diagnosed with highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, coccidioidomycosis, also known as Valley fever, Demodex dermatitis and mononucleosis, noting her treatment includes daily IV treatments which she estimated would cost $3,300 to $6,000 a month.
During a recent interview with Fox News Digital, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum revealed she agreed to compete on the current season of “Special Forces” because she needed the money after years of spending on medical treatments.
“The medical system here is broken,” Glanville explained. “So I have, like, from 8 a.m. on, I have creditors from, like, medical things calling me, like from Cedars-Sinai. It’s out of control. Like I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars that I had saved. I emptied my 401(k). And it’s all for medical bills. And I had insurance, and they told me nothing was wrong. I’m so angry. You know, going into my mid-fifties I had a cushion and that’s gone. So it’s very scary right now.”
In addition to her financial situation, Glanville explained she agreed to participate on the show because she was in a place in her life where she “needed to prove to myself that I could do it again.”
