Queensrÿche is an American progressive metal band established in Bellevue, Washington in 1982. The band has achieved worldwide sales exceeding 20 million albums, with their 1990 album “Empire” being their most commercially successful, featuring the hit “Silent Lucidity”. While initially known for their progressive style, their 1990s work, such as “Empire,” embraced a mainstream hard rock approach, garnering both commercial success and fan criticism. Following lineup alterations, two bands operated under the Queensrÿche name, permitted by a court ruling in the early 2010s until the situation was resolved.
